The Prophet Muhammad Teaches Peaceful Behavior

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Many people who did not visit a Muslim country or interact with a Muslim believe that all Muslims are violent and oppressors based on some stories. It is not true. All people make mistakes including the Muslims. But, Islam is a religion that guides. Islam explains to the people what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is wrong, and it guides them to the correct path in many issues of life, such as marriage, trade, family relationships, charity, ... etc. God says about the Muslims in the Holy Quran:
Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers. (110) Al Imran 3:110
Be Peaceful
Muslims must be peaceful. 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As, may Allah be pleased with them, said:
A person asked Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) who among Muslims was better. Upon this (the Holy Prophet) remarked: One from whose hand and tongue Muslims are safe. Source: al-islam
Do not be hostile, even in war. 'Abdullah bin Abi Aufa's Hadith, may Allah be pleased with him:
Abu Al-Nadr narrated from a book that was sent by a man from Aslam tribe, who was a Companion of the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and whose name was 'Abdullah bin Abi Aufa, to 'Umar bin 'Ubaidullah when the latter marched upon Haruriyah (Khawarij) informing him that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) in one of those days when he was confronting the enemy waited until the sun had declined. Then he stood up (to address the people) and said: O you men, do not wish for an encounter with the enemy. Pray to Allah to grant you security; (but) when you (have to) encounter them, exercise patience, and you should know that Paradise is under the shadows of the swords. Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) stood up (again) and said: O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Dispenser of the clouds, Defeater of the hordes, put our enemy to rout and grant us victory over them. Source: al-islam

We should not be suspicious of each other and spy on each other. Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the gravest lie in talk and do not be inquisitive about one another and do not spy upon one another and do not feel envy with the other, and nurse no malice, and nurse no aversion and hostility against one another. And be fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. Source: al-islam
Each person must treat the other well, even if s/he oppressed him/her. Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Two young men, one from the Muhajirin (Emigrants) and the other one from the Ansar (Helpers) fell into dispute and the Muhajir or the Muhajirin called his fellow Muhajirin, and the Ansari (the helper) called the Ansar (for help). In the meanwhile, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came there and said: What is this, the proclamation of the days of Jahiliyah (ignorance)? They said: Allah's Messenger, there is nothing serious. The two young men fell into dispute and the one struck at the back of the other. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Well, a person should help his brother whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed. If he is the oppressor he should prevent him from doing it, for that is his help; and if he is the oppressed he should be helped (against oppression). Source: al-islam

When you disagree with a person and your disagreement turns into a fight, try to stop and do not attempt to hit the other on the face.
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When anyone of you fights with his brother he should avoid striking at the face. Source: al-islam

And we do not forget to mention the Prophet's sermon known as the Farewell Sermon:
O People, listen well to my words, for I do not know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, and this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (riba), therefore all interest obligations shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib (Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived.

Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith ibn `Abd al Muttalib.

O Men, the Unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which God forbade, and to forbid that which God has made permissible. With God the months are twelve in number. Four of them are sacred, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Sha`ban. Beware of Shaitan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, perform your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your financial obligation. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor does a black have any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or messenger will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things: the Qur’an and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people. Source: Wikipedia
In the end...
God and the Prophet, Muhammad, taught us how to behave and how to be. The Muslim:
  1. does not lie,
  2. keep promises,
  3. does not betray,
  4. does not gossip and talk badly about others,
  5. is brave,
  6. is patient,
  7. is generous and not stingy,
  8. is fair with people,
  9. thinks before acting,
  10. depends on God after preparing for things,
  11. does his/her work well,
  12. is simple,
  13. is merciful,
  14. calls for doing good things and asks people to not do bad things,
  15. tries to spread God's words and the Prophet's teachings, and
  16. tries to be decent.
Islam is derived from silm which means peace. Many Arabic words are derived from silm including salam (peace), istislam (submission), salama (safe), and saleem (safe and sound).

Salam be with you :)

Working Is Worshiping In Islam

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today's Friday Prayer's sermon was about work and how it is viewed in Islam.

Working Is A Human Right
Islam urges all the people to work to eat food that is halal, which is bought by money gained from doing a good job, and to own things in the correct way - owning by gaining. And all of us are asked to relax after doing our jobs. God says in the Holy Quran:
Say: Have ye thought, if Allah made night everlasting for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is a God beside Allah who could bring you light? Will ye not then hear? (71) Say: Have ye thought, if Allah made day everlasting for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is a God beside Allah who could bring you night wherein ye rest? Will ye not then see? (72) Of His mercy hath He appointed for you night and day, that therein ye may rest, and that ye may seek His bounty, and that haply ye may be thankful. (73) Stories 28:71-73

This does not mean that all of us must work during the day and sleep in the night. In life, there are certain people who must do their job during the night, such as guards, drivers, pilots, etc. What God the Merciful wants us to do is to give everything its right - to work as well as rest. The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
You have to give God His right, and yourself its right, and your relatives their right, and give everything its right. Arabic Source: al-islam

For God
Work is not only a right. Every good work a person does is some kind of worshiping God when it is done following His orders - to live and help others live. Good work benefits. Bad work harms. Seeking money by working helps the family live without asking the people for it and be humiliated. God says:
Slay not your children, fearing a fall to poverty, We shall provide for them and for you. Lo! the slaying of them is great sin. (31) Al Israa 17:31
It does not mean that the person should concentrate on worshiping God and leaving the work:
The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, entered the Masjid one day and saw a man spending his time worshiping leaving everything behind. When the Prophet asked about who works to help him live, the Prophet's companions told him that it was his brother. The Prophet said: "His brother is more worshiping than him." Arabic Source: Al Khaleej

Doing The Job Right
When a person does his/her job, s/he must do it right, even if they are bored. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
God loves it when one does his job correctly. Arabic Source: Islam Web
Giving The Worker His/Her Salary
It is obligatory that the employer gives his/her employees their salaries promptly - to prevent anger and to be fair. The Prophet said:
Allah said: "There are three people I will be against on the Day of Judgment: A man who gave oath upon me and broke it, a man who sold a free man and ate from his money, and a man who asked another man to work for him and when he was done he did not give him his salary." Arabic Source: Islam Web
Allah prohibited stealing. The worker, whether in a high or low position, must not steal any public belongings or money. Also, Allah prohibited bribery. And
the Prophet cursed those who give bribery and who accept it. Arabic Source: Islam Web
Working Is A Right For Men And Women
Every work that God allowed is a right for every man and every woman. God the Greatest Says in the Holy Quran:
And their Lord hath heard them (and He saith): Lo! I suffer not the work of any worker, male or female, to be lost. Ye proceed one from another. So those who fled and were driven forth from their homes and suffered damage for My cause, and fought and were slain, verily I shall remit their evil deeds from them and verily I shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow - A reward from Allah. And with Allah is the fairest of rewards. (195) Al Imran 3:195
And there is nothing in Islam that prohibits the woman from becoming an engineer or a doctor or any noble job which will save her from asking the people for money. The woman must do her job in the correct way - refraining from tempting others, whether knowingly or not, with her looks or her clothes, so she must be decent to protect herself and the others from falling in the Devil's trap.

Asma, the daughter of Abu Bakr, served her husband Al Zubair in their house. She took care of his horse and brought water. Aisha and Um Salama helped the fighters in the War of Uhud giving them water and what they needed. And Ameena Bint Qais did a great job in the War of Khaibar. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, gave her a necklace for her good job, and she wore it and was proud of it until her death.

Working Is Obligatory
Every person must do a job as long as s/he is able to do it. No one should stay idle and prefer sedentary life. God asked us to take care of all of us, everyone on earth and everything on it. God says:
O ye who believe! Spend of the good things which ye have earned, and of that which We bring forth from the earth for you, and seek not the bad (with intent) to spend thereof (in charity) when ye would not take it for yourselves save with disdain; and know that Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise. (267) The Cow 2:267
The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, praised the hand that does a work and that God loves it and that Hell will not touch it. And the work without faith is nothing. And in many verses of the Quran, Allah pairs faith with good work. God says:
And whoso doeth good works, whether of male or female, and he (or she) is a believer, such will enter paradise and they will not be wronged the dint in a date-stone. (124) The Women 4:124
Unemployment
In Islam, the government is responsible for its people. It has to offer the unemployed jobs. If there are no jobs available in the near future, the government has to prepare the unemployed for these jobs by training. Unemployment can drive people to steal and kill.

In the end...
Solving the problem of unemployment will help build strong communities. And ensuring people do their jobs in the correct way and with enthusiasm, which will increase productivity :)

Good Treatment Of Animals

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

God chose the human to take care of the earth. He provided humanity with guidance in the Holy Books and through the teachings of the Prophets, Peace Be Upon Them. One of these guides is about caring for the creatures. The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, says:
God is merciful to those who are merciful. Be merciful to who is on Earth, and who is in the Heavens will be merciful to you. Source: Islamweb

Kindness To Animals
Animals are not toys. One should not treat an animal badly or hurt it. Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had forbidden tying animals (and making them the targets of arrows, etc.) Source: al-islam

We must give food and water to animals in need. The person is rewarded for doing so. Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: A man suffered from intense thirst while on a journey, then he found a well. He climbed down into it and drank (water) and when he came out he saw a dog lolling its tongue and eating the moistened earth out of thirst. The man said: This dog has suffered from thirst as I had. So he climbed down into the well, filled his shoe with water, then caught it in his mouth until he climbed up and let the dog drink it. Allah appreciated this act of his and pardoned him. Then (the Companions around him) said: Allah's Messenger, is there for us a reward even for (serving) such animals? He said: Yes, there is a reward for service to every living animal. Source: al-islam

It is forbidden to kill an animal or leave it to die. 'Abdullah bin 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: A woman was punished because she had kept a cat tied until it died, and (as a punishment of this offense) she was thrown into Hell. She had not provided it with food, or drink, and had not freed her so that she could eat the insects of the earth. Source: al-islam

And when slaughtering the animal, one should treat it well. The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
God ordered kindness to befall everything. If you kill, kill right. And if you slaughter, slaughter right. And make your knife sharp to relive the animal. Source: al-islam

And do something good that the animals as well as human beings can benefit from for a long time. Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Never does a Muslim plant a tree or a plantation from which a bird or a man or a beast eats, but that is (counted as) a charity in his favor. Source: al-islam

In the end...
Love God's creatures, and treat them well. May God reward you :)

The Responsibilty Of Sons And Daughters Towards Their Parents

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today's Friday Prayer's sermon was about the responsibility and relationship of the sons and daughters towards and between their parents. In a previous blog entry, I talked about the importance of parents in the Muslim community and their role in raising their children in the correct way.

Respecting The Parents
The parents are the important part of every family. They are the leaders and teachers. They are responsible to raise their children in the correct way. The mother conceived the children and she endured all the pain. The father works hard to ensure a good living for his family. The sons and daughters have to be grateful for them, they have not seen their mother enduring all the pain of pregnancy for 9 months and the father helping her in doing chores. They must be rewarded for their patience and for all the time they spent raising their children and helping them live life in the right course. God the Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word. (23) And lower unto them the wing of submission through mercy, and say: My Lord! Have mercy on them both as they did care for me when I was little. (24) Al Israa 17:23-24

And He also says:
And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother beareth him with reluctance, and bringeth him forth with reluctance, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till, when he attaineth full strength and reacheth forty years, he saith: My Lord! Arouse me that I may give thanks for the favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and that I may do right acceptable unto Thee. And be gracious unto me in the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto Thee repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto Thee). (15) Those are they from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their evil deeds. (They are) among the owners of the Garden. This is the true promise which they were promised (in the world). (16) Al Ahqaf 46:15-16

The sons and daughters are requested to respect their parents, before and after their death, by praying to God to forgive them and to pray for any thing good for them all. The sons and daughters must not say bad words to their parents, even the shortest word of uneasiness and disapproval: fie. And they also must not raise hands in the face of their parents when angry trying to hit them, even if it is meant as a threat. And do not hate them. Does anyone of us want to make our parents feel sad or ashamed because of us?!

The mother's role in raising her children is the greatest. Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
A person came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Who among the people is most deserving my companionship (of a kind treatment from me?) He said: Your mother. He, again, said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: It is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: It is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he (The Prophet (peace be upon him)) said: It is your father. Source: al-islam

It is forbidden in Islam to claim that you are not related to your father when you know he is really your father. Do not let your anger bring calamity upon you! Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Do not detest your fathers; he who detests his father commits infidelity. Source: al-islam

And do not badmouth other's parents! You are badmouthing your own parents! 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) observed: Abusing one's parents is one of the major sins. They (the hearers) asked: Messenger of Allah, does a man abuse his parents? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Yes, one abuses the father of another man, who in turn abuses his father. One abuses his mother and he in turn abuses his (the former's) mother. Source: al-islam

We have to treat our parents well, even if they are not Muslims. Asma', may Allah be pleased with her, reported:
I asked: Messenger of Allah, my mother, who wants my company or who hates Islam, has come to me, should I (even in her position of being opposed to Islam) treat her well? He said: Yes. Source: al-islam

Kindness to parents is one of the best deeds. It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, who observed:
I asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) which deed was the best. He (the Holy Prophet) replied: The Prayer at its appointed hour. I (again) asked: Then what? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Kindness to the parents. I (again) asked: Then what? He replied: Earnest struggle (Jihad) in the cause of Allah. I refrained from asking any more questions for fear of annoying him. Source: al-islam

And it is a sin to disobey the parents, excluding the things they ask their sons and daughters to do which make the God angry at the people, such as drinking alcohol, gambling, or talking bad about others. Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
Regarding the major sins, the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) observed: Associating anything with Allah, disobedience to parents, killing a person and false utterance. Source: al-islam

If one of our parents died, we can give charity on behalf of him/her. 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated:
A person came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: My mother died suddenly without having made any will. I think she would have definitely given Charity if she had been able to speak. Would she have a reward if I gave Charity on her behalf? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. Source: al-islam

And if one of them died and did not fast some days of Ramadan, we can fast on behalf of them. Allah is fair! Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, reported:
A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: My mother has died, and she had not observed one month fast. Thereupon he asked: Do you not see that if debt was due from her, would you not pay it off? She said: Yes (I would pay it off on her behalf). Thereupon he said: The debt of Allah should be repaid (before that of anyone else). Source: al-islam

And if they died or they were too old to perform the pilgrimage, we can perform it on behalf of them. Allah is merciful! Al-Fadl, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
A woman of the Banu Khath'am said: Messenger of Allah, my father is very old. There is an obligation of Hajj upon him from Allah, but he is not capable of sitting on the back of the camel. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Perform Hajj on his behalf. Source: al-islam

God ordered us to be good companions to our parents. He the Greatest says:
Say: Come, I will recite unto you that which your Lord hath forbidden to you: that ye ascribe no thing as partner unto Him and that ye do good to parents, and that ye slay not your children because of penury - We provide for you and for them - and that ye draw not nigh to lewd things whether open or concealed. And that ye slay not the life which Allah hath made sacred, save in the course of justice. This He hath command you, in order that ye may discern. (151) Al Anaam 6:151

Would not you treat your parents well when God asked you to do so?!

In the end...
Be good friends to your parents. Make them happy and proud of you before and after their death :)

Generosity: A Great Merit In Islam

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

One of the great merits in Islam is being generous - to give.

Great Rewards
The Prophets, Peace Be Upon Them, were generous. They gave what others needed and gave support. The Prophet Moses, Peace Be Upon Him, was a great man. He was the first to give a helping hand when no one gave it. God says in the Quran:
And a man came from the uttermost part of the city, running. He said: O Moses! Lo! the chiefs take counsel against thee to slay thee; therefor escape. Lo! I am of those who give thee good advice. (20) So he escaped from thence, fearing, vigilant. He said: My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing folk. (21) And when he turned his face toward Midian, he said: Peradventure my Lord will guide me in the right road. (22) And when he came unto the water of Midian he found there a whole tribe of men, watering. And he found apart from them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What aileth you? The two said: We cannot give (our flocks) to drink till the shepherds return from the water; and our father is a very old man. (23) So he watered (their flock) for them. Then he turned aside into the shade, and said: My Lord! I am needy of whatever good Thou sendest down for me. (24) The Stories 28:20-24

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, was a generous man too. He was famous for his generosity among the people before and after his prophethood. God says:
And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. (4) The Pen 68:4

Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was the most generous of people in charity, but he was generous to the utmost in the month of Ramadan. Gabriel (peace be upon him) used to meet him every year during the month of Ramadan until it ended, and Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) recited to him The Qur'an; and when Gabriel met him Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was more generous in giving charity than the blowing wind. Source: al-islam

The Prophet Muhammad loved generosity. He loved those who were generous to their families. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, was generous to his wives. 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, reported:
(One day) there sat together eleven women making an explicit promise among themselves that they would conceal nothing about their spouses. The first one said: My husband is a sort of the meat of a lean camel placed on the top of a mountain, which is difficult to climb up, and (the meat) is not good enough that one finds in oneself the urge to fetch it (from the top of that mountain). The second one said: My husband (is so bad) that I am afraid I will not be able to describe his defects both visible and invisible completely. The third one said: My husband is a tall fellow. If (he learns that) I describe him, he will divorce me, and if I keep quiet I will be made to live in a state of suspense (neither completely abandoned by him nor entertained as wife). The fourth one said: My husband is like the night of Tihamah (the night of Hijaz), neither cold nor hot, there is neither any fear of him nor discontent with him. The fifth one said: My husband is (like) a leopard as he enters the house, and behaves like a lion when he gets out, and he does not ask about whatever happens in the house. The sixth one said: So far as my husband is concerned, he eats so much that nothing is left back and when he drinks he drinks so that no drop is left behind. And when he lies down he wraps his body and does not touch me so that he may know my grief. The seventh one said: My husband is heavy in spirit, weak, suffering from all kinds of conceivable diseases, heaving such rough manners that he may break my head or wound my body, or may do both. The eighth one said: My husband is as sweet as the sweet-smelling plant, and as soft as the softness of the hare. The ninth one said: My husband is a generous noble man, tall - wearing long sword strap having heaps of ashes (at his door an indication of generosity) and his house is near the meeting place where people seek his advice (the inn). The tenth one said: My husband is Malik, and how fine Malik is, much above appreciation and praise (of mine). He has many folds of his camel, more in number than the pastures for them. When they (the camels) hear the sound of music they become sure that they are going to be slaughtered. The eleventh one said: My husband is Abu Zar'. How fine Abu Zar' is! He has suspended in my ears heavy ornaments and (fed me liberally) that my sinews and bones are covered with fat. So he made me happy. He found me among the shepherds living in the side of the mountain, and he made me the owner of the horses, camels and lands and heaps of grain and he finds no fault with me. I sleep and get up in the morning (at my own sweet will) and drink to my heart's content. The mother of Abu Zar', how fine is the mother of Abu Zar'! Her bundles are heavily packed (or receptacles in her house are filled to the brim) and the house quite spacious. So far as the son of Abu Zar' is concerned, son of Abu Zar's bed is as soft as a green palm-stick drawn forth from its bark, or like a sword drawn forth from its scabbard, and whom just an arm of a lamb is enough to satiate. So far as the daughter of Abu Zar' is concerned, how fine is the daughter of Abu Zar', obedient to her father, obedient to her mother, wearing sufficient flesh and is a source of jealousy for her co-wife. As for the female-slave of Abu Zar', how fine she is; she does not disclose our affairs to others (outside the four walls of the house). She does not remove our wheat, or provision, or take it forth, or squander it, but she preserves it faithfully (as a sacred trust). And she does not let the house fill with rubbish. One day Abu Zar' went out (of his house) when the milk was churned in the vessels, and he met a woman, having two children like leopards playing with her pomegranates (chest) under her vest. He divorced me (Umm Zar') and married that woman whom he met on the way. I (Umm Zar') later on married another person, a chief, who was an expert rider, and a fine archer: he bestowed upon me many gifts and gave me one pair of every kind of animal and said: Umm Zar', make use of everything (you need) and send forth to your family (but the fact) is that even if I combine all the gifts that he bestowed upon me, they stand no comparison to the least gift of Abu Zar'. 'A'ishah reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to me: I am for you as Abu Zar' was for Umm Zar'. Source: al-islam

We have to be generous in all times and in all ways. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
Charity is due on every joint of a person, every day the sun rises. Administering of justice between two men is also a charity. And assisting a man to ride upon his beast, or helping him load his luggage upon it, is a charity; and a good word is a charity; and every step that you take towards the Prayer is a charity, and removing of harmful things from the pathway is a charity. Source: al-islam

And charity is rewarded! The Prophet said:
He who among you can protect himself against Fire, he should do so, even by giving half a date (to the poor). Source: al-islam

God rewards good actions. He says in the Holy Quran:
And (there are) others who have acknowledged their faults. They mixed a righteous action with another that was bad. It may be that Allah will relent toward them. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (102) Take alms of their wealth, wherewith thou mayst purify them and mayst make them grow, and pray for them. Lo! thy prayer is an assuagement for them. Allah is Hearer, Knower. (103) Know they not that Allah is He Who accepteth repentance from His bondmen and taketh the alms, and that Allah is He Who is the Relenting, the Merciful. (104) Repent 9:102-104

Allah's Messenger, Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
When a woman gives in charity some of the food in her house, without causing any damage, there is reward for her for whatever she has given, and a reward for her husband for what he earned. The same applies to the trustee. In no respect does the one diminish the reward of the other. Source: al-islam

In the end...
It feels great when you help others, does not it? Do not you feel happy seeing someone you helped smile? Then, try to make all the people you meet in your life happy, and you will gain great rewards from Allah!

Misconception: Islam Is Not A Peaceful Religion

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Most of you have at least heard about the anti-Islam short film called "Fitna". This film has based its conclusion that Islam equals terrorism by picking up some Quranic verses and correlating them to some recent events. Unfortunately, the producer of the film had a long time producing it, he could at least have spent the time to understand the verses he mentioned as well as understand them in context in the Quran.

Terrorism
I am not here to debunk the film. I have not watched it. And I have mentioned many evidences in previous posts that Islam is a peaceful religion. And I, as a true Muslim, am not proud, but ashamed at what some outlaw Muslims are doing. God says:
The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom; (33) Save those who repent before ye overpower them. For know that Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (34) The Table 5:33-34

This verse describes the punishment of those who scare the people with weapons and kill them, kidnap them or steal their belongings. A way that God and His messenger see wrong and punishable. It relates well what we have seen Al Qaeda doing: scaring the people with weapons and bombs, kidnapping people and killing them, not differentiating between Muslims and non-Muslims and killing innocent people, as well as bombing and assassinations in many Muslim countries, especially Saudi Arabia. They deviated from the right way! The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
Every Muslim is a brother of every Muslim and he should not betray him, lie to him, or fail him, and the Muslim's body, money and blood are not to be violated, and piety is right here (pointed to his heart) and it is evil to scorn your brother Muslim. Arabic Source: al-islam
Fighting innocent people who did not refuse peace with the Muslims (by not fighting the Muslims) and they did not hurt or harm any Muslim is just wrong and unfair. God says:
Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. The Cow 2:190
And He says:
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him). Repent 9:4
Such outlaws terrorizing the whole world should be killed or asked to repent. If they refuse, Muslims should kill them.

Repentance
All people should repent and pray to God, the only One. If those who do not believe in God live alongside the Muslims, they are expected to agree not to fight against the Muslims and against their faith, and the Muslims should ensure their safety on their land. But, if some non-believers decided to break the peace treaty and fight against the Muslims, Muslims should first ask them to repent, if they refuse they have to fight them. God loves justice, and He is a great Judge!

God says in Repentance 9:1-13:
A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger to those of the pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances.― (1) Go ye, then for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him. (2) And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage― that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the pagans. If, then ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith. (3) (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those pagans with whom Ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided anyone against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for Allah loveth the righteous. (4) But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (5) If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure: That is because they are men without knowledge. (6) How can there be a league before Allah and His Messenger, with the pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the Sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous. (7) How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. (8) The signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done. (9) In a Believer they respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have transgressed all bounds. (10) But (even so) if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity― they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain signs in detail, for those who understand. (11) But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and attack for your Faith― fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained. (12) Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger and took the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay it is Allah whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe! (13)

The first seven verses are about the idolers who went to pilgrim around the Ka'bah naked, and this contradicted what God taught Muhammad in worshiping Him: to wear white textiles in pilgrimage. And the Messenger, Peace Be Upon Him, asked them to repent from worshiping the idols and to worship the only God in the correct way, and they were given four months to repent or to escape. But those who had already established a limited treaty are not included with them and they were allowed to live with the Muslims peacefully until the deadline unless they started a fight.

My reference was the Arabic Tafsir by Ibn Al Jawzy. The other verses have backgrounds too. To know about them check the English Tafsir page of Repent here.

So, as I said in the introduction, Quranic verses have backgrounds. The Quran is a storybook, a guidance and a revelation. God says:
We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too wast among those who knew it not. (3) Joseph 12:3

In the end...

In Islam, Muslims are not allowed to start any fight or be hostile. They must seek peace with other nations, tell them about their faith, and have a treaty with them to not fight. Muslims are just allowed to fight those who fight them.

Islam is a religion of peace. It fights those who do not wish peace with it and be hostile against it and against its people. We all want to protect ourselves, and the faithful should protect their faith from attacks. It is justice. But, some Muslims are too emotional that they do not be patient and do not reason with those who did wrong to them, by speech, with wisdom. People tend to be angry if someone they love is taunted in the way they deem disrespectful. Is not it right? It is the human nature and many of us have no enough control over it.

Darwin's Theory Of Evolution Contradicts Islamic Faith

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

I read some articles of a Christian member in deviantART.com about creationism. He has interesting thinking. And I agree with him that evolution theory is erroneous and that it contradicts faith.

Creationism
1. God is the One who created everything in the universe, including the human beings. Nothing is created incidentally. Every action causes a reaction. God says in the Quran:
Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs. Az Zumar 39:62

And He says:
Say: "Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible." The Thunder 13:16

2. The humans are the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, Peace Be Upon Them. God says:
Behold thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said "Wilt thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood? Whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not." (30) And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels and said: "Tell Me the names of these if ye are right." (31) They said: "Glory to Thee: of knowledge we have none, save that Thou hast taught us: in truth it is Thou who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom." (32) He said: "O Adam! tell them their names." When he had told them their names, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?" (33) And behold We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam"; and they bowed down: not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: he was of those who reject Faith. (34) We said: "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression." (35) Then did Satan make them slip from the (Garden) and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down all (ye people) with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood for a time." (36) Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration and his Lord turned toward him; for He is Oft-Returning Most Merciful. (37) We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you guidance from Me" whosoever follows My guidance on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (38) "But those who reject Faith and belie Our Signs, they shall be Companions of the Fire; they shall abide therein." (39) The Cow

3. God told us how He created Adam and how he creates us:
O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm then out of a leech-like clot, then out a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (Our Power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much). And (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). (5) The Pilgrimage

And God also says:
O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, his mate and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;― fear Allah, through Whom ye demand your mutual (rights) and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you. (1) The Women

And He says:
He it is who created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves!. (2) Al Anaam

And He says:
He Who has made everything which He has created most Good. He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay (7) As Sajda

And the Almighty says:
He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, (14) The Merciful

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
God created Adam, Peace Be Upon Him, and his length was of 60 hands. Source: Islamweb

And he also said:
And every one who enters Paradise will look like Adam. Source: Islamweb

The Prophet did also say:
The best day in which the sun rose is Friday and it is when Adam was created and landed on Earth and when he died and when the Day of Judgment will be. Source: Islamweb

So we all descended from Adam and Eve, Peace Be Upon Them. And we were destined to be of different nations. God says:
O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). (13) Al Hujurat

We were created to be of different colors and speaking different languages. Still, we are not different - we are human beings. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor does a black have any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves. Source: Wikipedia

3. Every human being dies, whether strong or weak, healthy or sick, because of disasters or not. God says:
He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving― (2) Al Mulk

4. God created the humans to worship Him, and He is the Greatest that He made us all honored than the apes. God says:
We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of Our Creation. (70) Al Isra

And He also said:
We have indeed created man in the best of moulds, (4) At Tin

In the end...
It is great to be special. God expects us to take good care of Earth and what is on it. He chose us!

Friday: The Holy Day In Islam

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today is Friday. It is considered a weekly Eid for Muslims. In this day, people spend their time in both worshiping God, reading Quran, doing the good, as well as visiting their relatives and friends. Friday is not just a holiday, it is also a holy day.

What To Do
Since Friday is an Eid, Muslims are expected to take care of their looks, since they will be meeting God when worshiping Him in the Friday Prayer. The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
Taking a bath on Friday is essential for every adult person. Source: al-islam

Friday is a special day. Every person knows that God watches him, and in other prayers the person should meet God well. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
It is the right of Allah upon every Muslim that he should take a bath (at least) on one day (Friday) during the seven days (of the week) and he should wash his head and body. Source: al-islam

On Friday, Muslims are expected to leave their work and go to Friday Prayer. God the Almighty says:
O ye who believe! When the call is heard for the prayer of the day of congregation, haste unto remembrance of Allah and leave your trading. That is better for you if ye did but know. (9) And when the prayer is ended, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah's bounty, and remember Allah much, that ye may be successful. (10) Friday

The Friday Prayer is attended by male Muslims. But, female Muslims can attend it. In the beginning of the prayer, the Imam gives a sermon. The sermon is intended to guide people, to remind them to worship God or to remind them of doing something. For example, today's sermon was about the importance of youth in developing a nation and how a well educated and a well behaved youth can build the community. Last Friday's sermon was about the Prophet's merits and his life and his great behavior with his wives. Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to deliver the sermon on Friday while standing. He would then sit and then stand (for the second sermon) as they (the Muslims) do nowadays. Source: al-islam

Best Day
Friday is considered the best day of the week. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said to his daughter, Fatima:
There is an hour on Friday if a Muslim met it and prayed to God for something good He will grant it. Source: Islamweb

That is why any person is encouraged to pray for God's forgiveness all the day as well as to ask Him for something good for him/her, for a relative, for a friend, for the community or for the good of all humanity. He is the Greatest!

The Prophet also said:
The daily five prayers and the Friday to Friday prayers cleanse what was between them if sins were avoided. Source: Islamweb

The Prophet also said that:
The best day in which the sun rose is Friday and it is when Adam was created and landed on Earth and when he died and when the Day of Judgment will be. Source: Islamweb

The Prophet said:
Friday is the master of all days and it is the greatest of them all, even greater than Al Futr and Al Adha days, for me and for God. Source: Islamweb

In the end...
Do not forget to pray on Friday and do not forget also doing good things and abstaining from doing sins!

Who is Prophet Muhammad?ً

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Sorry for being late, but now better than later :) Here is an English translation of a brief Arabic biography of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him.

Introduction
He is the last of the Prophets sent to humanity by God for guidance and happiness. He was a modest, trustworthy man before and after being a Prophet. He was the best example of a kind, caring, and loving person as all the Prophets, Peace Be Upon Them, were. And like the Prophets, he was assisted by God to spread His word.

Identity Card
  • Name: Muhammad
  • Known as: Al Mustafa (The Chosen)
  • Called: Abu Al Qasem (The Father of Al Qasem)
  • His Father's Name: Abd Allah Bin Abd Al Muttaleb
  • His Mother's Name: Amna Bint Wahab
  • Date of Birth: 17th of Rabie Al Awwal, in the year 570 A.C.
  • Date of Death: 28th of Safar, 11th year of Hijra
  • Prophethood duration: 23 years
  • Buried in: Al Madeena, Saudi Arabia
Blessed Birth
In the 17th of Rabie Al Awwal in the year known as The Year of Al Feel (the elephant), Muhammad was born. He was blessed that he was the son of two kind parents, Abd Allah and Amna. But, Abd Allah died two months before Muhammad was born. So, unlike other children, Muhammad had not had the chance to be with his dad and to feel the fatherhood.

Muhammad was nursed by Haleema Al Saadeyah. And he lived in the desert of Bani Saad for five years.

His Childhood
When Muhammad was 6 years old, his mother died. His grandfather, Abd Al Muttaleb took good care of him. Abd Al Muttaleb often said about Muhammad "I feel that my son will be of great importance" because from the day he was born they were blessed.

When Muhammad was 8 years old, his grandfather died. And so, Muhammad was taken care of by his uncle Abu Taleb as Abd Al Muttaleb willed.

His Youth
Muhammad had not reached adulthood yet, and he was very known among people as the trustworthy and the honest. And he was famous for his good behavior, righteousness, awareness and wisdom.

Prophethood
Muhammad did not follow nor did he approve of any pre-Islamic acts of worship the people around him used to follow, especially the worshiping of idols. He used to worship God in the cave of Heraa. And when Muhammad reached the age of 40, and while he was worshiping in the cave, the Angel Gabriel appeared before him and asked Muhammad:
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth. Al Alaq 96:1

'A'ishah, the wife of Allah's Messenger may Allah be pleased with her, reported:
The first (form) with which was started the revelation to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was the true vision in sleep. And he did not see any vision but it came out like the bright gleam of dawn. Then, solitude became dear to him and he used to seclude himself in the Cave of Hira', where he would engage in tahannuth (and that is a worship for a number of nights) before returning to his family and getting provisions again for this purpose. He would then return to Khadijah and take provisions for a like period, till Truth came upon him while he was in the Cave of Hira'. There came to him the angel and said: Recite, to which he replied: I am not lettered. He took hold of me (the Messenger said) and pressed me, till I was hard pressed; thereafter he let me off and said: Recite. I said: I am not lettered. He then again took hold of me and pressed me for the second time till I was hard pressed and then let me off and said: Recite, to which I replied: I am not lettered. He took hold of me and pressed me for the third time, till I was hard pressed and then let me go and said:
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists) (1), Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) (2) Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous (3), Who has taught (the writing) by the pen (the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)) (4) Has taught man that which he knew not (5). Al Alaq
Then the Prophet returned therewith, his heart was trembling, and he went to Khadijah and said: Wrap me up, wrap me up! So they (his household) wrapped him till the fear had left him. He then said to Khadijah: O Khadijah, what has happened to me? And he informed her of the happening, saying: I fear for myself. Khadijah replied: It cannot be. Be cheerful. I swear by Allah that He will never humiliate you. By Allah, you join ties of relationship, you speak the truth, you bear people's burden, you help the destitute, you entertain guests, and you help against the vicissitudes which affect people. Thereupon, Khadijah went to Waraqah bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul-'Uzza, who was Khadijah's cousin. He was a man who adopted Christianity in the Days of Jahiliyah (Ignorance). He could write Arabic. He wrote in Arabic from the Gospel many writings. He was an old man inflicted with blindness. Khadijah said to him: O uncle, listen to your nephew. Waraqah bin Naufal asked: What did you see my nephew? The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), then, told him about what he had seen. Waraqah said to him: That is the angel who descended on Moses. I wish I were young. I wish I would be alive when your people drive you out. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) exclaimed: Would my people drive me out? Waraqah said: Yes, no man came with what you have come, but was opposed. If I would live during your era, I would give you great support. Source: al-islam

And that was the start of his prophethood, Peace Be Upon Him. And the first one of women to believe in his prophethood was his wife Khadeeja Bint Khuwailed. And the first of men who believed in Muhammad's message was Ali Bin Abi Taleb.

Spreading Islam
When Prophet Muhammad was entrusted by God to spread His word, which is submitting to God only, he accepted it. He accepted this great task not because of ego, but because Muhammad was a great believer of God in a time when people were worshiping idols that were created by them.

In the first three years of secret inviting, 40 people converted to Islam. This was the first seed. Then, the Prophet invited his close relatives to Islam. After that, he started disclosing the message of God calling the people to believe on the Almighty God and refraining from worshiping idols.

The Wrath of Quraish
The leaders of Quraish faced the message of worshiping the only God with anger. And they hurt the people who supported and believed in it. When Prophet Muhammad saw all this vengeance, he asked the believers to migrate to Habasha (Ethiopia). And Quraish wrath increased and they started not working with people of Bani Hashim, not engaging in any trade with them, and not even marrying from them. And this lasted for three years. And the believers were not affected by all of that, although the death of the Prophet's guardian Abu Taleb and the mother of the believers Khadeeja Bint Khuwailed, in a year which was called the Year of Sadness, was so strong of an impact.

In the 11th year of Prophethood, Muhammad moved to Al Taef. And called its people to believe in God. The people hurt Muhammad and threw stones at him. Muhammad returned to Mecca still believing in God's mercy.

Abu Taleb Protects The Prophet
Abu Taleb believed in the Almighty, and he supported Muhammad in spreading God's message. Abu Taleb was the reason why Quraish could not hurt the Prophet, and he told him:
Do what you are told, I am here protecting you.

Abu Taleb was very honest in protecting the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him. He was famous for his saying:
And they shall not reach you
As long as I am not buried

Welcoming the Message
God's mercy! Islam was accepted by many groups coming from Yathreb (Al Madeena) for pilgrimage. They met the Prophet secretly and vowed to support him and to follow him. And that was the first welcoming of the message in the 11th year of prophethood. And there was another welcoming in the next year.

And thus, it was the beginning of the loosening of Quraish's wrath on the believers of the Almighty God, the only God.

Migration to Al Madeena
When people's hearts accepted Islam, Quraish leaders did not accept it. They met and decided to assassinate the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, to prevent the spread of the message of worshiping one God. And God was merciful to this nation. God willed that Ali Bin Abi Taleb sleep in the Prophet's bed that night. God's words for this event were known:
And of mankind is he who would sell himself, seeking the pleasure of Allah; and Allah hath compassion on (His) bondmen. The Cow 2:207

The polytheists did not figure it out, until the Prophet left Mecca:
And when those who disbelieve plot against thee (O Muhammad) to wound thee fatally, or to kill thee or to drive thee forth; they plot, but Allah (also) plotteth; and Allah is the best of plotters. Al Anfal 8:30

And then, Ali and the believers followed the Prophet and all entered Al Madeena.

And the courageous act of Ali, May God Be Pleased With Him, is taught to the generations as a great example of sacrificing oneself for the message of God and to protecting His messenger, Peace Be Upon Him.

The Prophet in Al Madeena
In the middle of the Arabic lunar month Rabie Al Awwal, the Prophet entered Al Madeena. And there, he started supporting the existence of Islam and spreading the great teachings of God. And in Al Madeena, the Prophet:
  1. built the masjid, the center for prayers and learning,
  2. worked on enhancing the brotherhood and cooperation between the believers,
  3. signed treaties with groups of power in and around Al Madeena,
  4. sent messengers outside Arabia to invite people to Islam, and
  5. formed the first Islamic protective army.
And so, the Prophet was able to form a strong, coherent, Muslim society in which he was the messenger, the father and the leader.

Most Important Wars
The reason for the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, to engage in war is to remove any obstacles facing the spread of God's message in Arabia. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, perform the Prayer, and pay Zakah. If they do that, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on my behalf except when justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah. Source: al-islam

No Muslim after that has the right to persuade by force or scare other non-Muslims to convert to Islam. God says:
There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower. The Cow 2:256

Quraish and other Arab tribes were violent against those who enter Islam and worship the only God. God wanted His message to spread to all humanity. He allowed the Prophet and the believers to fight against the Polytheist in order for the humanity to truly worship one God.

There were 27 wars in which the Prophet participated against the Polytheist. Before war, they were informed to accept God's message. When they refused, God allowed to fight against their soldiers, so the strong had to be heard. No eldelry, women, children, buildings, or even trees were hurt:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) made a raid upon Banu Al-Mustaliq while they were unaware and their cattle were having a drink at the water. He killed those who fought and captivated others. On that very day, he captured Juwairiah. 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (himself) was among the raiding troops. Source: al-islam

A woman was found murdered in one of the battles fought by the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). (On seeing that) Allah's Messenger disapproved of the killing of women and children. Source: al-islam

For every person killed unjustly, a share of his killing (also) falls upon the first son of Adam, for he was the first to introduce killing. Source: al-islam

Not only that forbidding killing of the innocents in war was in the time of the Prophet, but it was also a message for all the humanity so that justice be assured. It was made known that Abu Bakr ordered the men he sent to the many regions of the Islamic Nation to not kill the innocents. Abu Bakr ordered Yazeed, who he sent him as an Amir to Sham, by saying:
Yazeed, make sure you do not kill a woman, nor a child, nor an elderly, and make sure that you do not cut a tree, and do not destroy buildings, and do not slaughter a goat nor a camel unless to eat, and do not burn the cattle nor drown them, and do not be violent nor be a coward. Source: Islamweb

One of the important wars was Badr in the second year of migration, in which the believers defeated the Polytheist. And in the third year of migration the war of Uhud took place in which Muslims lost because of not following the orders. And in the fifth year Al Ahzab war, known as Al Khandaq, took place in which Quraish and its suporting Arab tribes were defeated. And in the sixth year the Prophet signed a treaty known as Al Hudaibia Treaty with Quraish. And thus the Prophet was able to spread God's message peacefully, and they fought against the Jews in Khaibar war.

Conquest of Mecca
Al Hudaibia Treaty did not last long when Quraish broke it in the 8th year of migration. The Prophet led an army of 10,000 fighters and entered Mecca without bloodshed.

The Final Pilgrimage
In the 9th year of migration, the Prophet fought the Byzantines in the Battle of Tabouk and defeated them. In the 10th year of migration, the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, finished performing his first and final pilgrimage. At the end of it, he gave his famous Farewell Sermon:

And God's words were known:
...This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion... The Table 5:3

The Prophet's Last Moments
The end of the Prophet's life was near. From rasoulallah.net:

In the month of Safar (the 1st Arabic month) in the eleventh year Hijri, the Prophet (PBUH) went to Uhud, the place where the Muslims fought before against Quraish and many Muslim martyrs were killed and buried there, and prayed for the martyrs there. He was seeing off all people, dead and alive, and then he left.

On the twenty ninth of Safar, the messenger (PBUH) said to his servant that he had been ordered to repent for the people of Al-Bakki’ (a grave yard in Mdina) and he asked his servant to come with him. When he arrived there he said: “Oh people of the graves peace be upon you. Be pleased with what you are in. The turmoils came keeping in trace as the very dark nights. The last very close to the first and the last worse than the first".

Then he looked at his servant and said that he was given the keys of all life treasures and eternity then the Paradise, and asked to choose between that and meeting the Almighty Allah then Paradise. Before finishing his words his servant begged him to choose eternity life; but the Prophet’s only concern in his life was just to tell his message. So he replied him saying that he had chosen to meet Allah then Paradise. After that he repented for the dead people in Bakki’.

In his way back, he felt a headache and his temperature got terribly high. When he entered his house, he found his wife complaining from a headache saying: "oh my head". But the Messenger told her that his headache was the worst. Then he tried to give her a hint that if he die, he wants her to wash him and prepare him for bury; so he said to her that she should not panic because if she die before him he is going to wash her and prepare her to bury and pray for her. But she did not understand what he had meant by these words. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied that if she is going to die, he (PBUH) will come back to her house and enjoy his days with his wives.

Aisha said that either because of her jealousy or because she wanted to release the Prophet from his pain, especially because of his complain from a terrible headache. When the Prophet heard her words he laughed.

The Prophet led the people in the prayers for 11 days while he was sick. His complete days of sickness were 13 or 14 days.

The Messenger (PBUH) was the perfect role model in applying the roles which he had taught his nation, especially with women. So when his sickness got worse and worse he asked his wives: "where am I tomorrow? "- that’s because he used to spend every day with one of his wives – The main cause of his question was to know when the day of Aisha is, because he loved Aisha more than his other wives.

The prophet asked Allah for forgiveness because he couldn’t be fair in his love towards his wives. He treated them all in a fair and equal way, but in terms of love; his love to Aisha was the most.

His wives knew that he loved Aisha most, so they asked him to stay with her during his sickness. The Prophet (PBUH) moved to Aisha’s house and stayed with her the last week of his life.

In his ordinary days the Prophet (PBUH) used to cure his pains with Quran (especially the last three Surahs : -al Ikhlas, Al Falaq & An Nas , that are called “ Al Mu’awathat”), but in his last days he was so sick that he could not cure himself. So Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to read the verses she memorised from the Prophet and blow in his hand, and then stroked over his body to cure him.

On Wednesday, five days before his death, he got worse and he was so sick that he fainted. When he got up he asked to spill on him seven buckets of water so he could speak to the people outside.

Even in his last moments he was interested in giving advices to his people, he could say only spill water over me but he described exactly what needs to be done in such cases, so that people can do the same as a cure from such sickness.

He said that this water should be from different wells, and to spill only seven buckets all at once. After they had spilt water over him, he felt that he got better. So he entered the mosque to give a speech.

He said: “cursed be all those who use to make the graves of their prophets place of worship……”

Once during the days of his illness, Abu Bakr - the closest friend of the Messenger- and Alabbas - the uncle of the Messenger -passed while a group of the Ansar -the inhabitants of Madinah who supported the Messenger- were crying. Abu Bakr -may Allah be pleased with him- asked them why they were crying. They replied saying that they had missed the presence of the Messenger among them. Abu Bakr entered the Prophet’s room and told him about what he had seen.

The Messenger loved the Ansar very much because they are the people who protected him and offered their souls and money to support him. So when Abu Bakr told him, he tied his head with a piece of cloth and walked to the mosque despite his pains and gave the Muslims his last speech.

He thanked and praised Allah and told the Muslims that they have to take care of the Ansar as being the first people who believed and protected him when others let him down, he trusted them most and they had done their best for Islam. And he stressed that they did what they had promised (to protect the Messenger and defend him and his religion), so he advised to forgive the one who commits a mistake and accept their good deeds.

While he was advising and showing them the right and wrong, he began to tell them that his death got closer by saying that there was a slave ( he means himself) that had been given the chance by Allah to choose between eternity life or to accept Allah’s faith. But he chose Allah’s faith.

When Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) heard this sentence, he cried knowing that the Prophet’s death will be very close and said that they would give their souls for the sake of the Prophet.

The companions of the Messenger wandered why Abu Bakr said such words.

But after the Prophet’s death they knew that the Prophet was talking about himself and that Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) was the wisest between them.

The Messenger told Abu Bakr to calm down. Then he told his companions, that he wishes to be with Abu Bakr forever, and it is friendship and brotherhood in Islam which tied them till Allah gather them again in the hereafter.

The Death of the Prophet
In the 11th year, and while an army led by Usama Bin Zaid was being prepared to fight the Byzantines, the Muslims were greatly saddened by the death of the Prophet after having a severe illness. He was resting on Ali Bin Abi Taleb's lab before he passed away.
