Anger Is the Devil

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today, I would like to talk about anger. I got really angry today at my brother that I shouted at him and said things that I vowed to God that I would never say. I prayed to God that He would forgive me. Anger really does open the door to the doings of the Devil.

Anger Destroys
Anger can inhibit your thinking. At times of anger you may not be able to control yourself. And the devil finds it a chance to make you do harm. Prophet Muhammad said:
None of you should judge between two persons when he is angry. Source: al-islam

Controlling anger requires a strong heart. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
The strong man is not the one who wrestles well but the strong man is the one who controls himself when he is in a fit of rage. Source: al-islam

In the end...
Many people harmed others because of anger. Control your anger so you do not do something that you will regret :)

Suicide Is A Sin

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

I talked yesterday about God's mercy. And that, at times of hardship, the person should be patient, do not curse, and believe in God's mercy. But, sometimes some people when facing a very grave hardship they may think of killing themselves. Does God approve of suicide?

Suicide - A Sin
The soul is so sacred. The soul is from God. Can you kill yourself when God created you to live and to worship Him? Is not life beautiful? Cannot there be times of hardship in every person's life? Was there, is there or will there be a person who will live happily until death? It cannot be. God says in the Holy Quran:
And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty; (68) The doom will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein disdained for ever; (69) Save him who repenteth and believeth and doth righteous work; as for such, Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. (70) And whosoever repenteth and doeth good, he verily repenteth toward Allah with true repentance - (71) Al Furqan

Sahl bin Sa'd Al-Sa'idi, may Allah be pleased with him, related:
There was an encounter between Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and the polytheists, and they fought (against one another). At the conclusion of the battle Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) bent his steps towards his army and they (the enemies) bent their steps towards their army. And there was a person among the Companions of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) who did not spare a detached (fighter of the enemy) but pursued and killed him with the sword. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: None served us better today than this man. Upon this Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) remarked: Verily he is one of the denizens of Fire. One of the people (Muslims) said: I will constantly shadow him. Then this man went out along with him. He halted whenever he halted, and ran along with him whenever he ran. He (the narrator) said: The man was seriously injured. He (could not stand the pain) and hastened his own death. He placed the blade of the sword on the ground with the tip between his chest and then pressed himself against the sword and killed himself. Then the man (following him) went to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: I bear testimony that verily you are the Messenger of Allah. He (the Holy Prophet) asked: What is the matter? He replied: The person about whom you just mentioned that he was one among the denizens of Fire and the people were surprised (at this) and I said to them that I would bring (the news about) him and consequently I went out in search of him till I found him to be very seriously injured. He hastened his death. He placed the blade of the sword upon the ground and its tip between his chest and then pressed himself against that and killed himself. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) remarked: A person performs the deeds which to the people appear to be the deeds befitting the dweller of Paradise, but he is in fact one of the denizens of Hell. And verily a person does an act which in the eyes of public is one which is done by the denizens of Hell, but the person is one among the dwellers of Paradise. Source: al-islam

And the Prophet also said about suicide:
He who killed himself with steel (weapon) would be the eternal denizen of the Fire of Hell and he would have that weapon in his hand and would be thrusting it in his stomach for ever and ever; he who drank poison and killed himself would sip that in the Fire of Hell where he is doomed for ever and ever; and he who killed himself by throwing himself from (the top of) a mountain would constantly fall in the Fire of Hell and would live there for ever and ever. Source: al-islam

And he also said:
He who took an oath of a religion other than Islam, in the state of being a liar, would become so, as he professed. He who killed himself with a thing would be tormented on the Day of Resurrection with that very thing. One is not obliged to make a vow to offer a thing which is not in his possession. Source: al-islam

Suicide Is Useless
People think that by killing themselves they are relieved from problems. They had done the greatest problem! They insured their place in Hell:
Those are they who purchase error at the price of guidance, and torment at the price of pardon. How constant are they in their strife to reach the Fire! The Cow 2:175

And they make their family, relatives and friends feel sad and guilty. Think before you decide to kill yourself:
No calamity befalleth save by Allah's leave. And whosoever believeth in Allah, He guideth his heart. And Allah is Knower of all things. Al Taghabun 64:11

In the end...
You are not the only person in this world who is suffering, and many had suffered more than you did. Be patient like the Prophet Job, Peace Be Upon Him, was. God says:
And Job, when he cried unto his Lord, (saying): Lo! adversity afflicteth me, and Thou art Most Merciful of all who show mercy. (83) Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers; (84) The Prophets

God's Mercy

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Allah is so merciful. He is a fair judge, a fair God. The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
There was a man before you who had killed ninety-nine persons and then made an inquiry about the most learned persons of the world (who could show him the way to salvation). He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred. He then asked about the most learned person of the earth and he was directed to a scholar, and he told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to the Prayer and worship and you also worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land (for you). So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy said: This man has come as a penitent and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said: He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn nearer. They measured it and found him nearer to the land where he intended to go (the land of piety), and so the angels of mercy took possession of him. Source: al-islam

One should not complain, shout or curse when facing a hardship. One should believe in God's mercy:
Sa'd bin 'Ubadah complained of illness. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) came to visit him accompanied by 'Abdul-Rahman bin 'Auf, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas and 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud. As he entered (his room) he found him in a swoon. Upon this he asked: Has he died? They said: Messenger of Allah, it is not so. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) wept. When the people saw Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) weeping, they also began to weep. He said: Listen, Allah does not punish for the tears that the eye sheds or the grief the heart feels, but He punishes for this (pointing to his tongue), or He may show mercy. Source: al-islam

In the month of Ramadan, God's mercy manifests. The Prophet says:
When there comes the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened, and the gates of Hell are locked and the devils are chained. Source: al-islam

Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Some persons among the polytheists had committed a large number of murders and had excessively indulged in fornication. Then they came to Muhammad (may peace be upon him) and said: Whatever you assert and whatever you call to is indeed good. But if you would inform us that there is atonement of our past deeds (then we would embrace Islam). Then it was revealed:
And those who invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, nor kill such life as Allâh has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. Al Furqan 25:68
And it was also revealed:
Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh" Az Zumar 39:53
Source: al-islam

The Prophet assures that God is merciful:
When Allah created the creation He put down in his Book, which is with Him upon the Throne: Verily, My mercy predominates My wrath. Source: al-islam

He also said about God's mercy:
Allah made mercy in one hundred parts and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and He has sent down upon the earth one part, and it is because of this one part that there is mutual love among the creation so much so that the animal lifts up its hoof from its young one, fearing that it might hurt it. Source: al-islam

God says in the Holy Quran:
And when those who believe in Our revelations come unto thee, say: Peace be unto you! Your Lord hath prescribed for Himself mercy, that whoso of you doeth evil through ignorance and repenteth afterward thereof and doeth right, (for him) lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. Al Anaam 6:54

And He says:
Thy Lord is the Forgiver, Full of Mercy. If He took them to task (now) for what they earn, He would hasten on the doom for them; but theirs is an appointed term from which they will find no escape. The Cave 18:58

He is the great merciful:
Your God is One God; there is no God save Him, the Beneficent, the Merciful. The Cow 2:163

In the end...
Do not lose faith in God's mercy:
Say: O My slaves who have been prodigal to their own hurt! Despair not of the mercy of Allah, Who forgiveth all sins. Lo! He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Az Zumar 39:53

Prophet Muhammad's Wisdom (II)

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

In this post I will continue on showing Prophet Muhammad's, Peace Be Upon Him, wisdom.

Prophet of Mercy
Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, did not treat people who hurt him in the same way they did. Here is a great example of his mercy:

'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with her, reported:
She said to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him): Messenger of Allah, has there come upon you a day more terrible than the Day of Uhud. He said: I have experienced troubles from your people, and the hardest treatment I met from them was what I received from them on the Day of Al-'Aqabah. I betook myself to Ibn 'Abd Yalil bin 'Abd Kulal with the purpose of inviting him to Islam, but he did not respond to me as I desired. So I departed with signs of (deep) distress on my face. I did not recover until I reached Qarn Al-Tha'alib. When I raised my head, lo! near me was a cloud which had cast its shadow on me. I looked and lo! there was in it the angel Gabriel who called out to me and said: Allah, the Honored and Glorious, has heard what your people have said to you, and how they have reacted to your call. He has sent to you the angel in charge of the mountains so that You may order him what you wish (him to do) with regard to them. The angel in charge of the mountains (then) called out to me, greeted me and said: Muhammad, Allah has listened to what your people have said to you. I am the angel in charge of the mountains, and your Lord has sent me to you so that You may order me what You wish. If You wish that I should bring together the two mountains that stand opposite to each other at the extremities of Makkah to crush them in between, (I would do that). But the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to him: I rather hope that Allah will produce from their descendants such persons who will worship Allah, the One, and will not ascribe partners to Him. Source: al-islam

The Prophet was able to kill the people, but he was merciful and faithful in God.

In the end...
Make sure you control yourselves at times of hardship :)

Islam And Respect Of Previous Religions Of God

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today, I would like to talk about Islam and how it views previous religions of God (Judaism and Christianity) as well as Islam's view of previous Prophets.

A Faith Pillar
The Muslim must believe in Judaism and Christianity as well as in all the Holy Books and in all the Prophets, mentioned or not, who were sent by God to guide humanity:
Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. The Cow 2:62

God also says:
The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying. The Cow 2:285

And He says:
O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray. The Women 4:136

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, explained faith pillars:
One day Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) appeared before the public. Then a man came to him and asked: Prophet of Allah, what is Iman? Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah, His angels, His Books, His meeting, His Messengers and that you affirm your faith in the Resurrection hereafter. He (again) asked: Messenger of Allah, what does Islam signify? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Islam signifies that you worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him and you perform the prescribed Prayer and you pay the obligatory poor-due (Zakah) and you observe the Fast of Ramadan. He (the inquirer) again asked: Messenger of Allah, what does Al-Ihsan (Faithfulness) imply? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, and in case you fail to see Him, then observe that He is seeing you. He (the inquirer) again asked: Messenger of Allah, when would there be the Hour of (Doom)? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer. I, however, will narrate some of its signs (and these are): When the female-slave will give birth to her master, when the naked, barefooted would become the chiefs of the people; these are some of the signs of (Doom). (Moreover) when the shepherds of the black (camels) would exalt themselves in buildings, this is one of the signs of (Doom). (Doom) is one of the five (happenings wrapped in the unseen) which no one knows but Allah. Then he (the Messenger of Allah) (may peace be upon him) recited (the verse):
Verily, Allâh! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die Verily, Allâh is AllKnower, AllAware (of things) . Luqman 31:34
He (the narrator, Abu Hurairah) said: Then the person turned back and went away. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Bring that man back to me. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet present there) went to bring him back, but they did not find him. Upon this Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) remarked: He was Gabriel. He came to teach people their religion. Source: al-islam

We all worship one God - Allah. Arab Christians call God 'Allah'. He is the Almighty one God:
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, (2) The Beneficent, the Merciful. (3) Owner of the Day of Judgment, (4) Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (5) Show us the straight path, (6) The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. (7) The Opening

ِAnd belief calls for respect. A person who disrespects a religion does not believe in it, and he becomes a non-believer.

The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, says:
When Allah will gather together, on the Day of Judgment, all the earlier and later generations of mankind, a flag will be raised (to mark off) every person guilty of breach of faith, and it will be announced that this is the perfidy of so and so, son of so and so (to attract the attention of people to his guilt). Source: al-islam

Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, admired Jesus, the Christ. He said:
Jesus son of Mary saw a man committing theft; thereupon Jesus said to him: You committed theft. He said: Nay. By Him besides Whom there is no god (I have not committed theft). Thereupon Jesus said: I affirm my faith in Allah and disbelieve my own self. Source: al-islam

And he also said:
I am most akin to the son of Mary among the whole of mankind and the Prophets are brothers of different mothers, (but of one religion) and no Prophet was raised between me and him (Prophet Eisa - Jesus). Source: al-islam

And said:
By Him in Whose hand is my life, the Son of Mary (may peace be upon him) will soon descend among you as a just judge. He will break crosses, kill swine and abolish Jizyah, and the wealth will pour forth to such an extent that no one will accept it. Source: al-islam

The Prophet described Moses and Jesus when he met them in Jerusalem in his Night Journey:
When I was taken for the Night Journey I met Moses (peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) gave his description thus: He was a man of an erect stature with straight (the narrator is doubtful regarding the word "straight") hair on his head as if he was one of the men of the Shanu'ah; and I met Jesus and the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) described him as one having a medium stature and a red complexion as if he had (just) come out of the bath. He observed: I saw Abraham (peace be upon him) and among his children I have the greatest resemblance with him. He said: There were brought to me two vessels. In one of them was milk and in the other one there was wine. And it was said to me: Select any one you like. So I selected the vessel containing milk and drank it. He (the angel) said: You have been guided on the natural disposition or you have attained the natural disposition. Had you selected wine, your Ummah would have been misled. Source: al-islam

In the end...
Respecting religions of God, the previous Prophets and previous Holy Books are parts of faith. A person who disrespects Christianity, Judaism, Jesus, Moses, Injil, Torah, or other Prophets or Books is a disbeliever:
Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom's weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Record, (3) That He may reward those who believe and do good works. For them is pardon and a rich provision. (4) But those who strive against Our revelations, challenging (Us), theirs will be a painful doom of wrath. (5) Saba

Make sure you pray for God's forgiveness, and do not forget to praise God's Prophets and teach others to respect them :)

"Peace Of God And His Mercy To You" Greeting

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatu allah wa barakatuh. This is the Islamic greeting in Arabic with which Muslims greet each other and greet the Angels when entering the house, or any building and when entering the Masjid.

Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in his own image with his height of sixty cubits, and as He created him He told him to greet that group, which was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring. He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of "Mercy of Allah". So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of Adam, his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed him continued to diminish in size up to this day. Source: al-islam

Spreading Peace
God the Almighty says in the Quran:
When ye are greeted with a greeting, greet ye with a better than it or return it. Lo! Allah taketh count of all things. The Women 4:86
And He also says:
No blame is there upon the blind nor any blame upon the lame nor any blame upon the sick nor on yourselves if ye eat from your houses, or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your fathers' brothers, or the houses of your fathers' sisters, or the houses of your mothers' brothers, or the houses of your mothers' sisters, or (from that) whereof ye hold the keys, or (from the house) of a friend. No sin shall it be for you whether ye eat together or apart. But when ye enter houses, salute one another with a greeting from Allah, blessed and sweet. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations for you, that haply ye may understand. Al Noor 24:61
Greeting is a sign of friendship and peace. A person walking and meeting a group of people sitting should greet them, even if they are strangers. If the person is driving on the road and saw people walking, he should greet them, even if they are strangers. The younger greet the old and the old greet the younger. Like this, respect and friendship grow between the people. And they feel the peace of mind and heart. Happiness is insured.

If a person does not greet people or reply to their greeting due to arrogance, s/he loses a great reward from God. The person will be viewed differently by the people around him/her. And can lose their friendship or trust.

And sometimes there can be misunderstandings or quarrels between people. They do not talk for 2 days. Be careful not to be enemies for more than three days! Allah's Messenger, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
It is not lawful for a Muslim to desert his fellow Muslim beyond three nights, the one turning one way and the other turning the other way when they meet; the better of the two is the one who is the first to give a greeting. Source: al-islam
And he also said:
Neither nurse mutual hatred, nor jealousy, nor enmity, and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. It is not lawful for a Muslim to desert his brother Muslim beyond three days. Source: al-islam

Every person on the world should try hard to spread love, peace and happiness. Do not forget to treat your family, friends and strangers with love and care :)

Parents' Importance In Islam

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today, I would like to discuss the role of the family in Islam. The important part of a Muslim community is the family. A coherent family consists of the parents and their children - young and adults. And the parents are the leaders and are expected to take their responsibility to make sure that the ship does not sink and that its crew follow the rules and are cooperative.

Marriage
A good family is made up of good parents. And good parents are expected to have good children. People affect people, and mostly the old affect the young. When a man is able to get married, he must be:
  1. adult,
  2. sane,
  3. aware,
  4. righteous, and
  5. Muslim.
And the woman who wants to get married, or a man with the above properties wants to marry her, the woman should be:
  1. adult,
  2. sane,
  3. aware,
  4. righteous, and
  5. Muslim, or non-Muslim of a religion of God (Judaism and Christianity).
I have to explain why the man should be Muslim and the woman can be a follower of any religion of God. We know that in a family the children get the name of their father, not the name of their mother. And we know that the father is the leader of the family, he is the main source of income for the family, and that the father's voice is always heard in almost every matter discussed in the family. Therefore, the children are mostly affected by the actions of their father, who is expected to be an example for the children. And the children will be expected to follow the religion of the father, which is Islam. And for the mother, she can keep following her religion, or she can convert to Islam if she accepts it (as a natural result of interaction and living with her Muslim husband). But, if the children followed the religion of their mother, which is not Islam in this example, there can be problems between the parents and their children. You see, if the father who is supposed to be the captain of the ship guides his crew who do not share his ideas, there will be conflicts, especially between the parents when their families interfere. And there will be situations in which the children do not know who to follow or listen to. I hope you have understood what I am trying to say.

And I want to say that God ordered us to marry to keep the humankind existent and to prevent people from committing adultery when they cannot control their sexual desires. And He allowed a man to marry up to four women only if:
  • his first woman cannot conceive,
  • his first woman has a dangerous disease that can transfer to him and to her fetus, or
  • he is able financially as well as able to be fair with each of his wives.
God says:
If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or that which your right hands possess. That will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice. The Women 4:2
And He says:
And come not near unto adultery. Lo! it is an abomination and an evil way. Al Isra 17:32

Raising Children
So, the important role of the parents is raising their children in the best way. To be good examples for them, to explain things for them, to teach them Islam, to study the Quran with them, to give them good names, to feed them well, to treat them kindly, and to differentiate for them right and wrong. The parents are expected to grow a good plant by taking good care of their seeds.

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:
In the Day of Judgment you are called by your names, and your father's name, so have good names. Arabic Source: Islamweb

And he said:
Be good to your children, and teach them good behavior. Arabic Source: Islamweb

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Al-Aqra' bin Habis saw Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) kissing Al-Hasan. He said: I have ten children, but I have never kissed any one of them, whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He who does not show mercy (towards his children), no mercy would be shown to him. Source: al-islam

And there are many teachings by the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, that guide the people in raising their children the correct way and teaching them responsibility.

And now, let me introduce you to what God says about parents' role toward their children:
And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil). Al Furqan 25:74
The father should pray to God to have a good wife and good children and to be able to be good example for them.

And God says:
Allah chargeth you concerning (the provision for) your children... The Women 4:11
Parents have to provide their children what they need of food, education, and a happy, yet responsible life.

And when the children among you come to puberty then let them ask leave even as those before them used to ask it. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations for you. Allah is Knower, Wise. Al Noor 24:59
When your children reach puberty, they can get married.

In the end...
The parents are responsible for their children. They are like gardeners who try their best to grow good crops. Prophet Muhammad said:
every one of you is a caretaker, and is responsible for his consignment. The ruler is a caretaker of people, and is responsible for his subjects. A man is a caretaker of his family, and is responsible for them. A woman is a caretaker of her husband's house and children, and is responsible for them. A slave is a caretaker of his master's property, and is responsible for it. All of you are caretakers, and all of you are responsible for their consignment. Source: al-islam

The happiest family is the one with good leaders.

And this is a note worth mentioning: Islam also did guide the sons and daughters to good behave with their parents. I will talk about this soon!

Until next time, make sure you be good to your parents and children :)

Islam and Differences Between People

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today, I would like to talk about Islam's view of differences between people. Does Islam care that a person is an Arab or not? Does it judge people by their color? Is Islam a discriminatory religion?

Islam is A Universal Religion
God does not look at people's color or look. He looks at their hearts. People are different, but what does differentiate between them? Their hearts and works. And their work is influenced by their faith, belief and fear of God.

God says in the Quran:
O mankind! Lo! We have created you from male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware. Al Hujurat 49:13

Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said in the Farewell Sermon:
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor does a black have any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves. Source: Wikipedia

And he also said:
Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds. Source: jannah.com

There were many stories about love and kindness. One of these stories is the following:
A hungry man came to the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, in the masjid and asked him for food. The Prophet went home and only found water. He said: "Any one wants to receive this person, God's mercy to you?" And one man of Al Ansar accepted him. He took him to his house. The man asked his wife to give food to the guest. She said: "This is the only food we have for our children." The husband asked his wife to play with the children until the guest eats the food. And the husband stayed with the guest in the dark to let him think that they are eating together. And the guest had felt full. And the husband, wife and their children slept hungry. And in the morning, the man and his guest went to the Prophet. And the Prophet said: "God is pleased by what you did for your guest last night".
And the following God's words were known:

And those who before them, had homes (in Medina) and had adopted the Faith― show their affection to such as came to them for refuge, and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to the (latter), but give them preference over themselves even though poverty was their (own lot). And those saved from the covetousness of their own souls, they are the ones that achieve prosperity. Al Hashr 59:9

The happiest is the person who meets people with love, and the happiest the person who has no seed of hatred or grudge in his heart:
We shall set up scales of justice for the day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least. And if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account. The Prophets 21:47

Until next time, make sure you love all the people. You love your parents, your brothers and sisters, your relatives, your friends, your neighbors, your classmates, your colleagues, and even the strangers you meet in the many moments of your life. A heart that is clean and pure is what God will see and praise.

May God guide those who deviated from His way, amen :)

Prophet Muhammad's Wisdom (I)

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

Today, I would like to share with you some of Prophet Muhammad's sayings and teachings. Let me begin with the following:

'Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with them, narrated:
The Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Pudency brings forth nothing but goodness.

'Abdullah bin 'Amr, may Allah be pleased with them, narrated:
A man asked Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) which (of the merits) is superior in Islam? He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: That you provide food and extend greetings to one whom you know and whom you do not know.

'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As, may Allah be pleased with them, said:
A person asked Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) who among Muslims was better. Upon this (the Holy Prophet) remarked: One from whose hand and tongue Muslims are safe.

Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: None among you will be a truthful believer till he likes for his brother or for his neighbor that which he loves for himself.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) observed: He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should either utter good words or better keep silent; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should treat his neighbor with kindness; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should show hospitality to his guest.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) observed: Whoever fornicates is not a believer so long as he commits it and no thief who steals is a believer as long as he commits theft, and no drunkard who drinks wine is a believer as long as he drinks it.

'Abdullah bin 'Amr, may Allah be pleased with them, narrated:
The Prophet observed: Four characteristics make anyone, who possesses them, a sheer hypocrite; anyone who possesses one of them possesses a characteristic of hypocrisy till he abandons it: when he talks he lies, when he makes a covenant he acts treacherously, when he gives a promise he breaks it, and when he quarrels he deviates from the truth.

Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever claims knowingly anyone else as his father besides (his own) commits nothing but infidelity, and he who makes a claim of anything, which (in fact) does not belong to him, is not among us; he should make his abode in Fire. And he who labels anyone with unbelief or calls him the enemy of Allah, while he is in fact not so, it rebounded on him.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Do not detest your fathers; he who detests his father commits infidelity.

Jarir, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) asked me on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage to make the people silent and then said: Do not return to disbelief after me by striking the necks of one another.

'Abdullah bin 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) observed: O women folk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk among the dwellers of Hell. A wise lady among them asked: Why is it, Messenger of Allah, that our folk is in bulk in Hell? Upon this the Holy Prophet observed: You curse too much and are ungrateful to your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise besides you. Upon this the woman remarked: What is wrong with our common sense and with religion? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from the fact) that the testimony of two women is equal to one man, that is a proof of the lack of common sense, and you spend some nights (and days) in which you do not offer the Prayer and in the month of Ramadan (during the days) you do not observe Fast, that is a failing in religion.

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
I asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him): Which sin is the gravest in Allah's sight? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you associate a partner with Allah, while it is He Who has created you. He (the reporter) said: I told him (the Holy Prophet): Verily it is indeed grave. He (the reporter) said: I asked him what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you kill your child out of fear that he will join you in food. He (the reporter) said: I asked (him) what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Then (the next gravest sin) is that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor.

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud's Hadith, may Allah be pleased with him.
'Alqamah related: While I was going along with 'Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) in Mina, 'Uthman (May Allah be pleased with him) happened to meet him. So he walked and talked with him. Then 'Uthman asked him: Abu 'Abdul-Rahman, should we not marry you to a virgin girl that your past may be recalled to your mind? 'Abdullah said: If you say so, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to us: O young men, those among you who can support a wife should marry, for it restrains eyes (from casting evil glances) and preserves one from immorality; but he who cannot afford it should observe Fast, for it is a means of controlling the sexual desire.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: A woman without a husband (or divorced or a widow) must not be married until she is consulted, and a virgin must not be married until her permission is sought. They asked the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him): How her (virgin's) consent can be solicited? He (the Holy Prophet) said: By keeping silent.

These were some of his sayings. Expect some tomorrow and I pray to God to keep me alive for the coming days :)

The Prophet of Islam

Peace of God and His mercy to you.

I am preparing for an English translation of Prophet's Muhammad biography. I want to make sure that I cover the most important events in his life. Expect it before the end of this week :)

But now, I would like to write a brief about Muhammad. About his great character and personality.

The Tremendous Nature of Muhammad
Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, was a great man, a great dad, a great friend, a great relative and a great husband. God praised him as he praised the other Prophets, Peace Be Upon Them, and He said in the Holy Quran:
And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. The Pen 68:4

Muhammad was a man of great wisdom. He said once to the believers who wanted to spread God's word:
You will not reach the people by your money, you will reach them by your good behavior.

Ali Bin Abi Taleb says about Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him:
He was the most giving, the most daring, the righteous, the fulfiller of promises, the kindest, the best companion, who saw him revered him, who got to know him loved him, and I have not seen nor I will see someone like him.

And it was said that a Jewish man came to the Caliphet Omar Bin Al Khattab and asked him:
"Tell me about your Prophet's virtues". And Omar told him that Bilal knew better than he did. When he went to Bilal, Bilal told him the Prophet's daughter, Fatima, knew better. And Fatima told him to see Ali that he knew better. And when the man asked Ali, Ali said: "Describe to me the best things in this life so I can describe him to you". The man said: "I am not able to do that". And Ali said: "You could not describe the best things in this life and God said it that the best things in life are few. So, how can you ask me to describe Muhammad's virtues and God said: "And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature."?"
God blessings to you and I hope I live to write my next post :)
